Session 3

Aims

• To show that Jesus is an authentic, historical person




• To think about Jesus as a person – what made him tick?




• To introduce the idea that Jesus can be known by us




• To establish the truth that Jesus is both fully human and fully God

In session two, participants looked at God – who he is and what he is like. Many people are comfortable with the concept of an ‘all-powerful deity’ but find it much more difficult to understand the person of Jesus – fully human yet fully divine.

Session three opens up this discussion, enabling participants to express their own understanding of Jesus and explore what the Bible says about him. For many, the first DVD clip, with its explanation of the historical and scientific support for the life of Jesus, will be very helpful. An excerpt from this clip can be viewed by clicking here.
